Introducing UNI-BOLT™, the blind fastener for hollow steel connections with limited access.

Traditional ways of connecting hollow section steel, like drilling and tapping, strapping, welding, or through-bolting can be slow and awkward when access is limited, driving up installation time and labour costs.

ICCONS® UNI-BOLT™ makes the job simpler: drill, insert, and tighten. This faster installation method reduces labour costs while still delivering a neat, clean finish. UNI-BOLT™ is also ETA assessed and can be designed to AS 4100 (Steel Structures Standard), giving designers and users confidence in its performance.

The expanding sleeve provides high-strength connections and allows installation from one side only, which is ideal for tight or restricted-access areas. It installs with just a standard spanner and torque wrench, and works with rectangular, square, and circular hollow sections.

Easy Installation Vs Other Fixings

    1. Drill clearance holes

ICCONS® UNI-BOLT™ is an ETA-assessed structural blind fastener for rectangular, square and circular hollow section steel. Its expanding sleeve creates a strong geometric interlock from one side only, making it ideal where access is limited. 

2. Where is UNI-BOLT™ used in structural steel?
UNI-BOLT™ is used for hollow section steel connections in building, facades, handrails, glazing, production lines, stadiums, civil infrastructure and solar frameworks – anywhere a fast, certified hollow section connection is required.

3. Is UNI-BOLT™ compliant with Australian standards?
Yes. UNI-BOLT™ is ETA 25/0374 assessed, NCC™ National Code Compliant and suitable for design in accordance with AS 4100 Steel Structures, giving engineers confidence in structural performance and compliance. 

4. How does UNI-BOLT™ install compared to welding or thru-bolting?
UNI-BOLT™ installs in three steps – drill a clearance hole, insert the UNI-BOLT™, tighten to the specified torque. Unlike welding, drilling and tapping or strapping, there is no hot work, no tapping and no need for access to both sides of the steel section. 

5. What sizes and finishes are available?

6. What tools do I need to install UNI-BOLT™?
UNI-BOLT™ can be installed with a standard spanner or torque wrench. ICCONS® recommends the ATW40200N 1/2" Industrial Adjustable Torque Wrench (40–200 Nm) for accurate torque on site.
