Cyclonix Self Drilling Hex Head Screws - Townsville Stadium, Queensland

ICCONS Cyclonix Painted Roofing screws and Self-Drilling Coarse Thread Painted screws add to the unique design of the new North Queensland Stadium in Townsville

North Queensland Stadium’s roof design, inspired by the tropical pandanus plant not only makes for an awe-inspiring sight but provides cover for around 75% of its 25,000 seats.

With the climate being a challenge in Townsville from one end of the year to the other, the roofing and cladding around the stadium called for nothing but the best in fixings to combat the destructive cyclonic winds that seasonally batter the city.

ICCONS Self Drilling Cyclonix® is the ideal option for roofing in cyclone-affected areas. This premium Class 4, top grip self-driller comes with a 6 Star EPDM sealing washer and pressure plate assembly. ICCONS range of Cyclonix® Screws have been specially engineered and proven suitable for Australia’s most severe cyclonic regions. All screws have undergone stringent independent testing and have been shown to meet or exceed all current Australian Standards for strength, serviceability, superior performance, and corrosion resistance.

Supplied by local distributor Global Fasteners, and installed by Havendeen Roofing, the stadium’s roof uses in excess of 130,000 ICCONS Cyclonix® 14g x 55mm Self-Drilling Screws, all painted Surf Mist. The cladding around the stadium is held in place by around 40,000 Self-Drilling Coarse Thread screws painted in both Surf Mist and Monument.
